Sauze d’Oulx (1509m) is the second largest village in the Via Lattea ski area, and is characterized by wide open pistes with wonderful views and narrow pistes amongst the trees. It is the ideal resort for those who like to ski on gentle and enjoyable slopes and for the “pro’s” who like to show off their technical and acrobatic capabilities. Sauze is also known as The Balcony of the Alps for its natural sunny position. It hosted the Olympic Games of Turin 2006.
Sauze d’Oulx (webcam) has one of the best après ski of Italy: in the lively town center are many shops, bars, pizzerias and restaurants with the typical Italian specialties of the Piemond area. It offers a very good nightlife in many pubs and clubs.
The Torino 2006 Olympic Mountains, i.e. the territory of the Susa, Sangone, Pinerolese, Chisone, Germanasca and Pellice valleys, is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and evocative areas of the province. Its wealth comprises top-level sports facilities with excellent opportunities for appreciating the culture and the food and wine, located in magnificent natural surroundings, with as many as six protected areas.
